THE BACKSTORY
—
The logo was created for the final race of a three part circuit known as the Wild Rover Series. Each event increases in distance, beginning at three miles and concluding with the Irish Clover Five Miler.
The goal was to capitalize on the power of simplicity with a nod to St. Patrick’s Day. The mark was constructed with the intention of incorporating the clover as the anchor element for reuse, leaving the rest of the design fluid for a refresh year over year. The icon illustrates a classic three-leafed clover, each leaf tying to one of the three races within the series. One of the leaves is isolated from the other two, symbolizing the final race of the circuit—the Irish Clover. The overall stroked design mimics race routes or streets with start and end points.
